Nemiga end Vitality’s run with straight-map semi-final victory

The story
Nemiga reached the PGL Masters Bucharest grand final by beating Vitality 2–0, winning Cache 13–8 and Dust2 13–11. The result extended their breakthrough tournament and secured a place in the title match against FURIA.
robo led Nemiga’s series with 46 kills and a 1.52 rating, according to HLTV’s report. His contribution helped turn a strong opening map into a completed sweep, even after Vitality found a much better position on Dust2.
Cache creates the opening
Nemiga moved into a 7–1 lead on Cache before Vitality recovered some ground by half-time. The comeback did not continue far enough after the sides changed, and Nemiga closed the map 13–8.
Taking the first map changed the pressure on the series. Vitality needed to win the next one to remain in the tournament’s title race; Nemiga needed only one more complete map to reach the final.
An early lead can be difficult to protect when the opponent starts rebuilding confidence. Nemiga’s achievement was to keep enough of their advantage to finish the opening map, rather than allowing the closing stages of the half to determine the rest of it.
Dust2 demands a comeback
The second map asked a different question. Vitality led 8–4 at the break, but Nemiga recovered to 10–10 and then won the closing rounds to take the map 13–11.
That reversal made the sweep more impressive than the series score alone suggests. Nemiga did not simply carry an uninterrupted advantage through two maps. They had to respond from behind against an opponent trying to force a decider.
The final rounds were where the tournament opportunity became real. At that stage, maintaining composure matters as much as the earlier run of rounds: each mistake can reopen a series that is close to being finished.
A final place with wider significance
HLTV’s live ranking projection put Nemiga inside the global VRS top ten after the win. That was a snapshot of the ranking picture at the time, while the final place was an immediate sporting achievement.
The next opponent, FURIA, arrived with a recent title and another semi-final win behind them. For Nemiga, that created a chance to test their tournament form against a team already showing strong results across events.
Whatever followed in the final, the Vitality series demonstrated two important parts of Nemiga’s run: the ability to establish control on their own strong map and the ability to recover when the next one moved against them. Together, those performances turned a promising event into a place in the championship match.
