HOTU lift Tesla Cup after a second sweep of GamerLegion

The story
HOTU won the RLG Tesla Cup with a 2–0 victory over GamerLegion, completing an unbeaten map run through the event. The final finished 13–6 on Dust2 and 13–9 on Nuke, giving HOTU a trophy and a stronger position before the approaching Major invitation cutoff.
The result was the second time HOTU had beaten GamerLegion during the tournament. Earlier straight-maps wins over Luminosity, B8 and GamerLegion had put them into the final, and they maintained the same clean series score when the title was on the line.
A tournament won without dropping a map
The final’s two scorelines show a side that established enough control to avoid a decider. Dust2 gave HOTU the series lead; Nuke converted that advantage into the championship.
Winning every series 2–0 is valuable beyond the appearance of a perfect record. It reduces the number of elimination moments a team has to negotiate and shows that opponents could not force a third-map reset. HOTU repeatedly carried an opening advantage into a completed result.
The rematch with GamerLegion added another test. Beating the same opponent again requires a team to handle adjustments as well as repeat what previously worked. HOTU’s final result confirmed that the earlier win had not exhausted their answers.
The Major picture improves
HLTV’s report linked the title to a substantial improvement in HOTU’s projected invitation chances. It cited a 73.3% estimate from its predictor at the time of publication.
That number is a dated projection, not an invitation. The practical significance is the direction of travel: a tournament win had improved HOTU’s position while there was still competitive action to come before the cutoff.
Their next scheduled event was GLuck Moscow Cyber Games. That gave the team one more opportunity to affect the picture rather than simply wait for the invitation list after Tesla Cup.
A trophy and another task ahead
The strongest part of HOTU’s week is the result already secured. A final won in two maps and an event completed without a map defeat are tangible achievements, independent of what the later invitation calculation produces.
The next challenge is to carry that level into another tournament without treating a better projection as a finished qualification campaign. Ranking systems reward completed results; the safest sporting response is to keep producing them.
HOTU leave Tesla Cup with momentum, a trophy and a clearer reason for confidence. Their unbeaten run did not settle every future question, but it gave them the strongest answer available in this event: win each opponent’s series and finish the final before a third map is required.
