Invictus Gaming return to the Worlds last four

The story

Invictus Gaming have eliminated Top Esports 3–1 in the opening Worlds 2026 quarter-final, securing their first semi-final appearance since 2019.

The all-LPL series took place in Allen, Texas, on November 3 US time. Esports Insider reports that IG won the opener, conceded the second game and then took the next two to advance. Their next opponent comes from Gen.G versus LYON.

A familiar rivalry, a different stage

The teams had already exchanged best-of-five wins in September. This meeting carried a simpler consequence: the loser was out of Worlds. IG’s victory guarantees an LPL representative in the semi-finals after the region began the Swiss Stage with four losses.

TheShy and Rookie, members of IG’s 2018 championship team, are back in the latter stages of the tournament. The remaining quarter-finals will decide the rest of the field.
