The story

Callum Osmand and Camilo Duran transformed Celtic’s Europa League night as Martin O’Neill’s changes helped overturn a deficit against Besiktas.

Celtic were trailing 1–0 after an hour and facing a fourth successive defeat in the competition. Osmand scored just 43 seconds after coming off the bench, immediately changing the atmosphere at Parkhead.

Duran delivers through the middle

O’Neill later moved Duran into a central role. A pass from Osmand released the Colombian, who rounded goalkeeper Alexander Nubel to put Celtic ahead.

Orkun Kokcu equalised for Besiktas, but Duran responded again two minutes later, controlling Kieran Tierney’s mishit shot and finishing from close range. BBC Sport’s analysis identifies the substitutions as the turning point: Celtic gained movement behind the defence and a sharper threat in the penalty area.
