Crazyhouse qualifiers offer a route to an eight-player final
The story
Chess.com’s Crazyhouse Championship begins with November 5 qualifiers before an eight-player final on November 6.
The organiser lists a $2,500 prize fund. Each qualifier is a 75-minute arena using a three-minute time control without increment, and the winner earns a place in the final.
Captured pieces return to the fight
Crazyhouse changes the familiar value of a capture: a captured piece enters the capturing player’s reserve and can later be placed on the board as one of their own pieces. That creates attacking possibilities beyond standard chess.
The final uses a double-elimination bracket with best-of-four matches. Entrants should check Chess.com’s fair-play requirements, including any requested camera setup, and the official event page for the session appropriate to their timezone.
