PUBG targets hardware-ban evasion in latest anti-cheat update

Edvard Hansson
The story
PUBG’s anti-cheat team says it banned 10,237 accounts confirmed to be evading hardware restrictions as part of its latest enforcement work.
The developer letter describes four identification updates during October and a broader effort to disrupt the sale and promotion of cheating tools.
Enforcement extends beyond matches
From January through September, the team reported more than 280,000 pieces of cheat-related promotional content to external platforms. Reporting that material does not mean every item was removed; those platforms make their own decisions.
The developer is also reviewing stronger penalties for playing alongside cheaters. That proposal should be separated from sanctions already in force. This update concerns PUBG: Battlegrounds and should not be read as an announcement about PUBG Mobile’s enforcement systems.
