Mark Robinson returns to Sussex in a part-time cricket role

The story

Mark Robinson is returning to Sussex as director of cricket, taking a part-time position at a club he previously served as player and head coach.

BBC Sport reports that Robinson will continue his work at Brighton Aldridge Community Academy alongside the Sussex appointment. His earlier coaching spell at Hove included County Championship titles in 2006 and 2007.

Familiar leadership during a difficult period

The appointment follows Paul Farbrace’s move to Lancashire. Sussex have also faced financial difficulties, including an emergency ECB bailout and competition points deductions.

Robinson said he wanted to contribute to a brighter future for the club. The role brings back someone with substantial knowledge of Sussex while the county works through its financial and sporting challenges.
