Jersey take confidence into the next World Cup qualifying stage

The story

Jersey all-rounder Zak Tribe believes the island side are playing their strongest cricket as they prepare for another World Cup qualifying play-off.

BBC Sport reports that Jersey won Challenge League A, finishing five points above Kuwait. The result takes them to the qualifying play-off for a second successive time.

Nepal is the next step

Jersey are due to travel to Nepal next month for an eight-team event with one-day international status. The top four teams progress to the final qualifying round for the 2027 World Cup.

Tribe’s assessment reflects confidence after consistent performances, but qualification still has to be earned on the field. Jersey reached this level in 2023 without progressing further and now have another opportunity to improve on that run.
